Chris English

Christopher J. English is the founder of RockFence Capital, a $500 million private market lender that provides long-term performance hedges for professional athletes, primarily Major League Baseball players. Chris was a Partner and Senior Investment Officer at Magnitude Capital, a $5 billion fund of hedge funds, from 2008-2015. Previously, Mr. English served for five years as Managing Director and Co-Head of Deutsche Bank Alternative Trading’s Cross Market Arbitrage Group. In this capacity, he managed a $1 billion multi-strategy platform. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, he was Managing Partner of New Bond Trading, Inc., and a Boston-based investment firm that he co-founded in 1994. New Bond Trading’s activities have included: Investment Manager of Finsbury Partners, a $600 million global fixed income hedge fund; and private equity investments in various start-up businesses in the financial, e-commerce, real estate and entertainment industries.

Mr. English was a Founding Member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, owner of the Nashua Pride, and former owner of the Norwich Navigators, the “AA” farm team for the New York Yankees. He is the managing member of Ducks on the Pond, the majority owner of Long Island Ducks Professional Baseball Club. He is the owner and CEO of the Brockton Rox of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. He the owner and CEO of the Vermont Lake Monsters, 2021 Futures League Champions and Organization of the Year. He is a co-founder of Trajekt Sports, developer of the first robotic pitching that can accurately replicate any MLB pitcher’s pitches. He was the Executive Producer of “Stolen Bases,” a documentary about minor league baseball. Mr. English was co-producer of “The Perfect Storm,” the story of the 1994 Expos which aired on the TSN Network in Canada.
